Ancient-basket-part
The earliest and simplest weave type of making baskets was using a one over and one under weave pattern as this basket part has and dated from 4,000 BC time period. The ancients would use strips of yucca, sotol and lechuguilla plants that were plentiful in the area. This fragment on display in my office is about 3.5 X 3.5 cm and is very fragile.
